2022-02-25

The "2022 Olympic Fine Arts Conference", an official project of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games organized by the Beijing Winter Olympic Organizing Committee and the China Association for the Promotion of Culture and Arts, has recently opened at the Beijing Mizuo Center. A total of nearly 800 pieces (pieces) of fine art were exhibited, allowing the flower of art to bloom together with the Winter Olympics.

With the theme of "The Beauty of Winter Olympics - A Meeting in Beijing", the exhibition is divided into five sections, aiming to showcase the beauty of Chinese art, the beauty of world art, the beauty of Winter Olympics sports and colors. The "Beauty of Ink Painting" features more than 300 works by over 80 contemporary Chinese painters, and the "Beauty of Calligraphy" features more than 100 works by some of China's most influential contemporary calligraphers. "Beauty of Printmaking" and "Beauty of Sculpture" bring together the works of contemporary printmakers and sculptors. The "International Beauty" invites 100 international artists to participate in the exhibition.

When you enter the exhibition hall, you will first see the sculpture "In Memory of Pierre de Coubertin" created by artist Wang Shaojun. Considered as the " father of the modern Olympics", Pierre de Coubertin spent his life advocating the Olympic spirit. The Beijing Olympic theme work "China=mc²" created by painter Huang Yongyu in August 2008 is also displayed prominently on the first floor.

The exhibition features a selection of fine works by contemporary calligraphers and fine artists of various styles and high artistic standards. The Chinese painting "Fuwa" by painter Xie Zhigao depicts a young girl holding a torch of "auspicious clouds" and surrounded by the "Fuwa" mascot of the 29th Beijing Olympic Games. In the "Beauty of Calligraphy" section, calligrapher Liu Hongbiao has written a large-size work entitled "Together for a Shared Future". Many calligraphers also cheer for the Winter Olympics with poems on the theme of ice and snow and the Winter Olympics.

Together with the offline exhibition, the retrospective of previous works is held for the first time via the Internet. More than 1,000 paintings, calligraphy, sculptures and other artworks by artists from 83 countries and regions are on public display for the world, allowing more people to experience the charm of Olympic art.

The Olympic Games have set up a world class stage for competitive sports, cultural and artistic exchanges. Along with its development, the Olympic Fine Arts Conference is becoming a global fine arts event that promotes the unity and integration of humanity and common progress. Since it was first held during the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the event has been held four times. Nearly 3,000 artists have been selected from nearly 20,000 artists from over 70 countries to exhibit their works, and the congress has been included in the official program of the Olympic Games in successive years. The offline exhibition will be on display until the end of March.
