There are over 100 registered royal cats in the Forbidden City, some of which are descendants of royal cats in the Qing dynasty, some of which were sneaked into the palace later, presenting an another scenery line in the palace. The staff of the palace also take special care of these cute little cats. You would know from their cute body shape that they have a good diet. The imperial cats in the Forbidden City are mostly scattered in the imperial harem under the shade of trees and the eaves. You can even see many sika deer in the Garden of Compassion and Tranquility.
