Beijing Stone Carving Art Museum

The exhibits include calligraphy, stone carving and rubbings by royal family of Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1912) such as Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang, Emperor Kangxi, Emperor Yongzheng and other royalties. The exhibition fully shows the attainments of the royal calligraphy and their significance on development of calligraphy.

Exhibition in Memory of the 100th Anniversary of the October Revolution - A Collection of Russian State Historical Museum

Location: Gallery N10 of National Museum of China

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the victory of the October Revolution in Russia, the National Museum of China exhibits 238 artworks closely related to the October Revolution, such as oil paintings and sculptures from 21 veteran Russian artists, photos and historical items about the revolution and the following era that was deeply influenced by it.

The exhibition consists of three parts: “The Great Revolution”, “Memories about the Revolution”, and “China-Soviet Union Friendship,” showing the friendly relations between China and Soviet Union.

Beauty in the New Era - Special Exhibition of the Collection of NAMOC

Location: Hall 19-21 of National Art Museum of China

National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) showcases its collection of more than 200 art pieces by famous Chinese artists in modern times, including Qi Baishi, Fu Baoshi and Xu Beihong.

14 artists featured at the exhibition made progressive endeavors to rejuvenate Chinese painting during the clash of Eastern and Western cultures. Each of them generates pages in any book on the history of modern Chinese art, through which one can look back on the modernist revolution of Chinese art.

Ninety percent of the artworks are debuting to the public for the first time, such as Geese, an ink painting by Xu Beihong who heralded the realism school in 20th-century Chinese art.

The Calligraphic Art of Yan Fu

Location: Palace of Prolonging Happiness of the Palace Museum

Dates: Nov. 28, 2017 - Jan. 28, 2018

The exhibition showcases more than 100 pieces of works by Yan Fu, including copies of calligraphy, letters, annotations, couplets and inscriptions for friends and acquaintances, along with his works as translator, demonstrating his attainment in the art of calligraphy rarely known to the public. Some exhibits are of Yan's copies of famous calligraphers' works, including the iconic Lanting Xu by Wang Xizhi and pieces from masters like Chu Suiliang and Yan Zhenqing.

Yan Fu (1854-1921) was a pioneering scholar and translator who advocated for social reforms and introduced Western sociology, politics, economy, philosophy, and natural sciences to China in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
