The Ming Tombs, a national scenic spot, is located at the southern foot of Tianshou Mountain in Changping District, 50 km north of Beijing. It is a mausoleum complex of thirteen emperors in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), which is characterized by large scale, complete system and relatively complete preservation. There are beautiful natural landscapes and rich cultural relics.

The mausoleum area of Ming Tombs is about 120 square kilometers.

The tombs of the Ming Emperor Zhu Di and thirteen emperors after him were built here. It has a solemn and orderly overall layout, and was listed as the world cultural heritage in 2003.

Changling, the mausoleum of Emperor Zhu Di, was built in 1409, and it is the best preserved building in the Ming Dynasty Mausoleum.

Dingling, the burial tomb of Zhu Yijun and two queens, is the first mausoleum excavated in China as planned. Zhaoling, a fully restored cemetery according to the former site of the Ming Dynasty, boasts towering pines and cypresses, as well as splendid halls.
