The red tourism big data report recently released by many travel platforms shows that the reservation volume of revolutionary scenic spots continues to grow. Beijing has become the most popular red tourism destination, and the proportion of young tourists participating in red tourism has gradually increased.
According to the data of the tourism platform, the top ten red tourism destinations are Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai, Changsha, Yan'an, Jiaxing, Zunyi, Shaoshan, Nanchang, and Anyang.
Judging from the age of tourists in the revolutionary scenic spot, the post-80s and post-90s mainly account for 38% and 31%, respectively. The number of post-90s increased by nearly 40% compared with the first half of 2019, and the number of post-90s participating in red tourism increased significantly. Young tourists aged 13 to 27 have the highest preference for red tourism. Their preferred red tourism destinations are mainly in Beijing, Yan'an, Jinggangshan, Changsha, Nanchang, Zunyi, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, and Wuhan.
Generally speaking, the places where significant historical events of the Chinese revolution took place and the destinations with rich red tourism resources are relatively more popular. Beijing has the largest number of landmark revolutionary scenic spots and the largest number of red memorials and museums in China, attracting young tourists one after another.
