GuijiayuVillage is situated at Dahuashan Township, Pinggu District. It is a place full of legends. The 13 peaks in different shapes provide it with a perfect shelter from wind. The place gains its name because the famous general Yang Yanzhao of the Song Dynasty (960-1279) once took off his armored suits and took a rest there. There are still legends about Yang Liulang taking off his armored suits, an ancient well and eunuchs herding horses. Guajiayu Village has green and luxuriant trees and wonderful scenes. It is warm in winter and cool in summer, making it a good resort for holidays. In the area, mountains are like dragons rising up to reach the 623-meter main peak Laogongding, forming a picture of two dragons playing with a ball. At the peak, there are throngs of cypress trees. Climbing onto the peak, one can see the capital city of Beijing in the west, Miyun Reservoir in the north and Sizuolou Great Wall in the east. Particularly, in the evening, the small village is lit up with dots of lights, which interweave with the lights from stars and the moon, making it hard to tell where the lights originate. The melodies from the distant grand opera stage make you intoxicated even if you do not drink any liquor.
