The Bao Su Imperial Study was built in 1758, during the reign of the Qing Dynasty Emperor Qianlong.  The emperor drew this building’s name from Daoist literature.  Because the scenery here is clear and simple and the environment peaceful, Emperor Qianlong and the crown prince used it for reading.
