Lanterns shaped like terracotta figures are currently on exhibition in Beijing's Chaoyang Cultural Center to celebrate the upcoming Beijing Olympics, News.cn reported on Tuesday.

The multi-colored lanterns are made from fiber reinforced plastics which give them vivid facial expressions. It took over 30 craftsmen four months to produce the 102 lanterns.

Besides a range of common terracotta figures such as soldiers and horses, replicas of children and women were also created for the exhibition.

The terracotta warriors -- located in Xi'an, the capital city of Shaanxi Province -- is extolled as "The Eighth Wonder of the World."

The exhibition will move to Chaoyang District Olympic Culture Square on August 1.
