Youyishun  

  Youyishun is a famous Moslem restaurant in Beijing. It was set up in August 8, 1948. Moslem restaurants are divided into East and West Styles. Donglaishun stands for the East Style with its chaffing dishes and Xilaishun for West Style with sautéed dishes. Youyishun integrated stir-fried, roast foods and chafing dishes of the East Style and magnificent and delicate dishes of the West Style, and made it own feature of typical Beijing Moslem food.

  Some celebrities preferred this restaurant. Tibetan living Buddha, Panchen Lama had been here; Mr. Pu Jie inscribed the plaque for it; in 1972, former US president Nickson had a dinner here during his visit to China; Mrs. Hu Jieqing, wife of the famous writer Lao She, wrote the phrase “delicious food satisfies guests from all over the country; clean environment pleases visitors all around the world.” after her dinner; Xu Deheng, former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress, also inscribed the plaque for Youyishun in 1985.  

  Nowadays Youyishun offers over hundred variety of dishes, chafing dishes and Moslem Roast Duck. A Roast Duck chef known as Duck Hu worked here for several years.
