Tongchunyuan is a famous restaurant in Beijing offering Jiangsu food. Set up in 1930, it has been located in busy Xidan commercial district for 70 years. In its early years, Tongchunyuan employed renowned chefs and caught attention in its debut in Beijing. As a restaurant of Jiangsu food, it enjoys its fame until now.
Tongchunyuan features with dishes made of river fish, shrimp and crab, which are cooked by stewing, frying, quick-frying, sauté, deep frying, and braising. The foods are tender, lite, slightly sweet, having original flavor, crisp and soft but good in shape. Dishes made of fish are extremely rich.
On January 28, 2000, Tongchunyuan Restaurant moved to October Plaza, No. 14A, Xinjiekou Outer Street due to the reconstruction in Xidan Junction.
