Built in 1955 and located in Wangfujing Street, one of the busiest areas in Beijing, Capital Theater is a professional theater belonging to the Beijing People’s Art Company. It embodies the decent and elegant style and inherits European, Russian and Chinese architectural merits.

The sound, light and other facilities have been updated according to system-control technology. The stage is 21×22 (m) and equipped with 42 riggings and lamps. 1200 people could be seated in the two stories of the audience hall, suitable for large or medium sized drama, dancing, opera, conference and other cultural events. Since its founding, it has devoted a lot for the development and prosperity of Chinese drama, exemplified by masterpieces like Teahouse, Thunder Storm, the Mostly Known Building, Death of a Salesman, The Caine Mutiny etc.
