Located in No. 40, Liangmaqiao Road, Chaoyang District, Century Theater is the only up-scale performance site in Central Business District (CBD), located in the Third Embassy Zone under construction and near to the Kempinski, Kunlun and other deluxe Hotels.

Started in 1985 with an investment totaling 370 million RMB, it opened to the public in May 4 1990. Designed and built by Chinese and Japanese architects, it combines traditional style and modern aesthetics and ranks as a masterpiece in the Beijing architecture history for its unique design.

It is divided into five areas: the big theater, the small theater, the rehearsal hall, the make-up room and the office, suitable for opera, ballet, large-scale symphony and evening show, its stage being movable in direction and altitude. The small theater is able to accommodate 400 people, fully qualified for concerts, seminars, press conferences and lectures, with professional simultaneous interpretation apparatus, projector and cinematograph provided.
