The Summer Palace was an imperial garden in the Qing Dynasty. Its has vast lakes, beautiful gardens, and magnificent palaces. Composed mainly of Longevity Hill and Kunming Lake, it owns over 3,000 man-made ancient structures, including pavilions, towers, bridges, corridors, etc.. In December 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on the World Heritage List. Being the largest and most well-preserved royal park in China, it greatly influences Chinese horticulture and landscape with its famous natural views and cultural interests, which also has long been recognized as “The Museum of Royal Gardens”.

Transport:

By Subway: Take Subway Line 4 to Beigongmen (Exit D) and walk west for 3 minutes to the North Palace Gate.

By Bus: To the East Palace Gate: Take Bus No. 303, 331, 332, 346, 508, 579, or 584, to Yiheyuan Station; or take Bus No. 384, 394, 563, 594 or 601 to Poshangcun and walk west for about 200 meters to the gate.

To the West Gate: Take Bus No. 469 or 539 to Yiheyuan Ximen (Yiheyuan West Gate) Station.

To the North Palace Gate: Take Bus No. 303, 331, 346, 394, 563, 584, 594 or Singtseeing Bus Line 3, and get off at Yiheyuan Beigongmen (North Palace Gate) Station; or take Bus No. 332, 384, or 601 to Beigongmen Subway Station.

To the New Palace Gate: Take Bus No. 74, 374, or 437 to Xin Jian Gong Men (Yiheyuan New Palace Gate) Station.

Reservation: make reservation via official Wechat account and take ID card for admission.
