2019-03-20

The city's 29th annual peach flower tourism and culture festival opened in Hongqiao district, Tianjin on Mar 18.

The festival has been held for 28 years and aims to promote Tianjin's tourist attractions and business investments.

Focusing on supply-side structural reform, Tianjin is striving to boost its tourism sector by smart technology, cultural heritage, and beautiful natural scenery.

This year's peach flower festival consists of various activities including tea ceremonies, a gourmet festival, cross talk, and oil painting paper umbrella promenade, giving visitors a chance to learn about the different and fascinating Tianjin cultures.

In addition, visitors will use this opportunity to buy time-honored Tianjin special snacks.

With a total length of 1,350 meters and covering an area of 6.19 hectares, Taoyuan Garden is a belt-shaped park along the canal with ornamental peach blossoms. It consists of three major scenic spots: Taoyuan, Taoshiyuan and Beiyangyuan. The garden has 39 species of peach trees on the mountain and more than 8000 trees.

In addition, investment promotion activities are held with about 200 representatives from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei areas and local chambers of commerce, associations, central enterprises, and private enterprises participating in the conference. At the meeting, important achievements in regional economic development, shantytown renovation, cultural creation and ecological construction in recent years are presented.  Key investment projects and investment policies of Hongqiao district are presented to attract potential well-known enterprises to settle in the area.
