Beijing staging Colorful China Mini Art Exhibition

2018-12-13

The Contemporary China Mini Art Exhibition opened in Beijing on Dec. 6, with some 960 exhibits created by 600 artists of 27 ethnic groups across China to be showcased during the month-long event.

Each artwork to be displayed had to meet a size requirement of 10X12cms. They were selected from 4,000 works produced for submission to the exhibition over the past two years, covering various genres, such as Chinese painting, calligraphy, seal cutting, sculpture, oil painting, photography, comprehensive material, devices, paper cutting, embroidery, cloisonné, and so on.

With the theme of "Inheriting the classics, cultivating ingenuity and creating an innovative future," the exhibition presents the diverse and harmonious development of Chinese culture through the mosaic assembly of mini-artworks.

Part of the exhibits had been showcased during the "Experience China in Italy" event held in Italy last June jointly organized by the State Council Information Office of China, the Benetton Academic Research Foundation and the Chinese Embassy to Italy.
