2nd Village Art Carnival Opens in Beijing

The Second Village Art Carnival - Enjoy Performance at Grandma’s Home kicked off on November 18th, 2018, providing visitors with a chance of feeling the rustic culture of simplicity and hospitality. Here children can get in touch with the traditional games popular in 1970s and 1980s in China, such as spinning tops and tossing bean bag. They can also enjoy the fascinating shadow puppet performance, a national intangible heritage, and have interactive performance with those folk artists. Besides, there is a country fair for visitors to taste popcorn, Tanghulu (sugarcoated haws), cotton candies and other delicious snacks.

Activities:

(1) 16:00-17:00 Watch and perform shadow puppet performance with folk artists.

(2) 15:00-17:30 DIY experience at Parent-child workshop: traditional paper-cutting, Chinese opera mask painting, lantern making, etc.

(3) 15:00-17:30 Play nostalgic games: rolling hoop, spinning tops, riding unicycle, hopscotch, tossing bean bags, etc.

(4) 15:00-17:30 Taste snacks: 1 cup of popcorn, 1 string of sugarcoated haws, 1 cotton candy, 1 ear of boiled corn, 1 baked sweet potato

Notice: Activities not included in the ticket are charged separately.

Visitors who live in Yinjuxiangli homestays (Laolaojia, Huangluhuakai and Taoyegu) can get a free carnival ticket.

Every ticket is for 2 adults and 2 children.

The carnival is suitable for family with kids aged 3-12.
