By telling a tragic story of revenge, the author profoundly demonstrates the confusion of life dilemma and the philosophical reflections on the mysterious universe. This modern version of The Wilderness is directed by the director of Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center, He Nian. It brings new charms to the classics with brand new ideas and forms. The performance has been received lots of favorable comments so far. Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center is the only national theater company in Shanghai, and is also the city's home of theater and performing arts. It was established in 1995 with the merging of the Shanghai People's Arts Theatre and Shanghai Youth Drama Troupe - both founded in the 1950s and played important roles in the development of drama in China. Today SDAC's impressive team of professional playwrights, directors, actors and stage designers produce more than 50 productions and engage more than 300,000 audience every year, most under 45 years old.
