Over 1,000 activities ready for Mid-Autumn Festival in Beijing

To celebrate the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, more than 1,000 theme activities of book reading, artistic performances and intangible cultural heritage exhibitions will be held by the public cultural service organizations at all levels in Beijing. Among those, the 380 cultural activities are expected to receive 1.2 million participants.

During the Mid-Autumn Festival, there will be 99 performances and 266 shows given at 68 performance venues throughout the city, including high-level Mid-Autumn Festival themed concerts, opera parties and singing and dancing shows, ballets, musicals, dramas as well as children’s dramas.

To promote the cultural heritages of traditional festivals, the municipal and district-level cultural institutions will also conduct activities of reading, exhibitions, cultural lectures and others to welcome the Mid-Autumn Festival.

In addition, during the festival, Xicheng, Chaoyang, Fengtai, Changping, Fangshan, Pinggu and Daxing districts will host 17 intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, during which citizens can enjoy the moon, draw clay figurine Rabbit God, and watch performances like walking on stilts.
