'Charming Beijing' Held in St. Petersburg, Russia

On July 30, Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development held a tourism promotion activity with a theme of Charming Beijing in St. Petersburg, Russia. The delegates of the Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development gave priority to the cultures and tourist resources in Beijing, while introducing Beijing's favorable shopping environment and the related tourism policies like 144-hour transit without visa and departure drawback.

Shi Anping, inspector of Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development addressed that strengthening cooperation with St. Petersburg was of significance to implement the Belt and Road Initiative and Beijing, the capital of China was an ancient city with a history of thousands of years, as well as an international city welcomed all people in the world. He also hoped more and more people from St. Petersburg and other places in Russia would come to Beijing to experience the typical oriental features.

In the activity, Shi Anping along with the distinguished guests visited the Beijing Tourism Photo Exhibition which presents Beijing's exclusive tourist features, beautiful urban landscapes and people’s livelihood through four sections of Ancient Beijing, Cultural Beijing, Modern Beijing and Stylish Beijing.

The tourism promotion activity and the tourist photographic exhibition both are parts of Days of Beijing Activity in Russia, which includes two events in Moscow and St. Petersburg - jointly organized by Beijing Municipal Government, Government of Moscow and Government of St. Petersburg. Yang Bin, Vice Mayor of Beijing declared the opening of Beijing Day Activity in Moscow on July 27.

A series of activities with a theme of "Days of Beijing" as one of Beijing's important brands for cooperation and exchanges between sister cities revealed the landscapes and characteristics of Beijing, attracting lots of Russians to participate.
