The main exhibits of the museum include minerals, rocks, biological fossils, and other geological specimens, displaying 2 thousand specimens out of around 20 thousand total collections of specimens. The museum consists of exhibition hall, archives center, and show room of teaching practice.
It conserves a large number of precious, rare, distinctive, and even world-class paleontological fossils, minerals, ore deposits, rock specimens, and other resources, as well as tens of thousands of highly important type specimens and typical specimens. The museum also preserves prehistorical creatures, minerals, gem, and jade, as well as crystal of the United States, XX of Brazil, apatite of Russia, native sulfur of Poland, and topaz of Yunnan Province.
