JI Wei is an outstanding Chinese zither performer, educator and master's supervisor at the Central Conservatory of Music. She was rated as one of the top 10 successful Chinese women in the world by a Hong Kong-based magazine Jessica in 2010. She won “China Gold Record Best Performance Award", an authoritative music award of the country. The zither concerto Mooring at Night by Maple Bridge she played was included and published (piano concerto by Mr. Lang Lang) by the world's most authoritative record company DG Records (German Phonograph Record Company).
