Kamameshi (kettle rice) cooked with traditional Japanese cooking skills is rarely seen in the Japanese restaurants in Beijing. The rice takes around 40 minutes and is steamed independently only when ordered. However, it is worth waiting for that long - unique fragrance of the rice is so strong that only eating the rice can satisfy your appetite.
Here recommends two ways to eat its Kamameshi - stir first and then pour soup on it. You can put shredded laver, sesame, mustard or scallion in the stirred rice according to your own preference and then pour Japanese miso soup.
