China's new landmark economic zone turns one year old

On April 1, 2017, China announced the establishment of the Xiongan New Area in North China's Hebei Province, which is about 100 kilometers southwest of Beijing.The Xiongan New Area is being built into a new landmark economic zone that will possess domestic and global influence, furthering similar efforts seen in recent years with the establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone as well as the Shanghai Pudong New Area.
