Tianningsi Bridge

Not far from the west of Xibianmen Bridge is the Tianningsi Bridge, which was built in 1991 and is located in the junction of Xuanwu District and Haidian District. Being both a road bridge and a river-crossing bridge, it is structurally the most sophisticated in the Second Ring Road in Beijing. Beijing Binhe Park is a modern belt-shaped open park of rich historical and cultural values. In this park, a memorial dolmen was built on the ruins of the Daan Temple in the capital of the Jin Dynasty, and memorial columns were erected for commemorating Beijing being a city for 3,040 years and the capital for 850 years.

Houmen Bridge

Houmen Bridge is situated in the central axis line of Beijing, north of the Di’anmen and south of the Gulou (Drum Tower). Due to the location in the south of Di’anmen (front door), the bridge was also called Houmen Bridge since the Di’anmen was co

mmonly known as Houmen (back door). It lies at the outer street of Di’anmen, spanning across the Shichahai and running into the Jade River. Built in Yuan Dynasty, it was originally given the name Wanning Bridge. Before its stone structure, it was initially a wood bridge, commonly known as Haizi Bridge. It is a single-arch stone bridge later on the north side of the north-south axis line running through the Beijing city. In the Yuan dynasty, it was a significant water channel on Tonghui River, thus being of great value on the research of water transport of grain in ancient Beijing.

Baizhifang Bridge

Workers of paper workshops through the ages mostly dwelled around Baizhifang (White Paper Workshop) since its establishment in Yuan Dynasty. To pray for safeness, temples for consecrating Cai Lun and Guan Yu were constructed here.
