2017-11-17

The Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) Art Museum is showcasing two artists for its annual Fine Arts Nomination Exhibition, which this year will be titled The Return of Reality. The exhibition features five artworks including sculptures and installation works from each of the artists - Liu Bin and Chen Ke.

According to exhibition curator Wang Chunchen, also vice director of the CAFA Art Museum, while both Liu and Chen once taught at CAFA, this did not keep them from continuing to work on their art. As such, for them, the exhibition is "kind of the return to reality."

Liu has produced many murals over the years, even traveling to Southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region for inspiration.

The exhibition is also the showcase of his latest work before his retirement.

The sculptures created by artist Chen Ke demonstrate his rich academic background and experiences studying overseas in Russia.

In his work Seven Sages, visitors will also be able to recognize his deep-seated roots in Chinese traditional culture.

The exhibition is set to run until December 3.
