Date with Fallen Leaves in Fragrant Hill Park

When ask about where to appreciate autumn scenery in Beijing, most people will answer that the Fragrant Hill. The Fragrant Hills Park, aka Xiangshan Park (香山公园) is located in west Beijing covering an area of 188 hectares. It used to be an imperial garden in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The hill with a garden in the park was listed one of three imperial hills and five imperial gardens in Beijing. Emperors and royal family hunted in autumn and winter. Now, it is an AAAA scenic area.

The highest peak is Xianglu Peak at an altitude of 557 meters covered with lush trees. Over 130 thousand plants featuring red leaves are cultivated. The park becomes a red ocean. Every autumn and winter, a host of visitors will come to the park to enjoy amazing red leaves.

Besides, ancient architectures such as pavilions, terraces and open halls can be seen every corner. The combination of red leaves and vintage buildings creates picturesque scenery for visitors.

In addition to wonderful natural scene, various kind facilities are available like ropeway and restaurant.
