Chen Junde Painting Art Exhibition

2017-08-15

Chen Junde, a famous oil painter and oil painting educator, learned from great predecessors Lin Fengmian, Liu Haisu, Guan Liang and Yan Wenliang in his early years. For more than half a century, he has made a positive exploration of the integration of the eastern and western art. His oil paintings are characterized by expressionism, while highlight the taste of traditional Chinese freehand brushwork. They showcase western painting textures, and embody the aesthetic spirit of the east. In terms of oil painting dominated with colors, Chen's paintings present distinctive independent values.

The Chen Junde Painting Art Exhibition reviews the growth experience of the painter over the past 60 years in the art circles, selected his representative paintings of each age from the 1960s until today, featuring wide range of subjects, and rich categories. They include over 60 canvas oil paintings, over 20 paper-based oil pastel works, and 20 sketches from youth days. The modernist paintings of literature significance, painted in the 1960s and 1970s, are on public display for the first time.
