Be prepared to enjoy the2013 Yanqing Ice Lantern Festival. The festival opens on Jan 10th, of 2013 and Beijingers and expats are encouraged to take advantage  of this delightful affair.

Beijing’s Yanqing County is about to get a lot brighter thanks to the forthcoming 2013 Longqing Gorge Ice Lantern Festival that kicks off on January 10 and runs until the end of February.

This year’s lantern spectacle will be spread over 500,000 square meters and will include four major areas including snow sculpture zones, multi-colored lantern zones and ice sculpture exhibition zones. The event will feature a total of 350 ice lantern works, over 300 ice sculptures, 500 flower lantern groups and over 300 tree lanterns.
